We stayed here on my aunt’s recommendation and think that this place is not bad. The location is right at the heart of Ximending, which is awesome if you love this area of Taipei. We opted for the bigger room (medium deluxe or something) and it was more than adequate for 2 persons. Both the shower area and toilet is situated along the corridor. The design here is considered minimalistic, and reminds me of the ones I see in Ikea. Internet connection is relatively fast and smooth, programs on the television are slightly limited, but at least there is a HBO movie channel and TLC to keep us entertained. The bed is slightly too soft for my liking, resulting in me getting a backache every morning. This is however a more personal viewpoint. The part I really don’t like about this place is the lighting, which doesn’t allow me to switch on the lights in the corridor without switching on the ones in the room as well.
Taipei Metro (Ximen Station) is about 12 minutes’ walk away, although this may take longer as there are many shops along the way to pique your curiosity. Service at reception counter surprisingly cold as compared to the usual uber friendly people we meet in Taiwan. Still, for the price we paid, I reckon this hotel is alright.
