I missed out on visiting CNY market at Victoria Park last year as they were not opened yet when I dropped by Hong Kong. This year, I made a point to go over barely a week before Chinese New Year. Luckily, I managed to catch the opening of the CNY market before I fly off the next day. Typically, flower markets in Hong Kong open approximately a week before CNY. This is the second time I visit this CNY market, and it is surely the biggest in Hong Kong.
Unlike the CNY markets in Taipei, this one sells mostly CNY decorations such as posters with CNY greetings, as well as flowers and plants used to decorate the house. There are a lot of plushies on sale as well. Note that the items at the market gets cheaper as the week goes by as sellers are eager to sell off what they have. Many of these items (mostly horse related as it is the year of the horse) will be obsolete once the new year start.
