Tokyo: Shirohige’s Cream Puff Factory (白髭(しろひげ)のシュークリーム工房)

Who can resists these cute cream puffs?! Visited Shirohige’s Cream Puff Factory twice as the totoro cream puffs were sold out on my first visit. While the place is only a 5 minute walk away from Seitagaya-daita Station, it is not that easy to find your way there especially if you are using Google Maps (I find it pretty useless in Japan, unless you know Japanese I suppose).

Even on our second visit (on a late Monday afternoon!), most of the cream puffs were sold out except peach and custard flavors. We tried out both flavors and found them to be delicious. The peach cream was exceptionally light with pieces of fresh peach studded inside. The custard one was good too. The cream puff factory is housed on the first floor of a 2 storey building. There is a café upstairs. Patrons can order their cream puffs directly from the shop and eat it upstairs. I really love the general feel and décor of this place, as it is partially hidden by the abundance of plants and trees growing around it. Almost as if Totoro may just pop out from a corner! The cream puff factory also sells a selection of cookies. Do come early to prevent disappointment!
